#1: World Cup Coming to Atlanta?

Update: Atlanta is still in the hunt along with 36 other US cities bidding to host the World Cup in 2018/2022. I picked this as my favorite post from the previous blog because it was written prior to the summer of soccer & the dwindling of the bidding cities/stadiums.  And it’s still ongoing! More to come on that soon.

#2: Former Silverback YouTubed himself onto Scotland team!

UPDATE: This was just an awesome story and though Martyn’s time with Queen of the South was short he’s path was memorable.

#3: Goodbye Silverbacks, Hello Blackhawks

UPDATE: During some dark days for Atlanta Pro Soccer this was one of the only signs of life we had.  It wasn’t until more recently that we discovered that NuRock Soccer Holdings was behind the Blackhawks and were going to have a bigger impact on the American Soccer scene then anyone expected. More to come on that soon.

#4: A Matter of Time?

Update: When hearing that MLS wouldn’t be coming to Atlanta is was a great disappointment to many of the soccer fans in Atlanta and the southeast.  Unless Arthur Blank is closer to David Beckham then I think it could be a while before we get another chance.

#5: Mac Kandji a NY Red Bull in 2009!

Former Silverback, Mac Kandji

UPDATE:  When the men’s Silverback team announced they were shutting down I had hope we could see a former player have success with a new team.  Though NYRB had a horrid season it was fun to watch Mac play when he was healthy.
