The Alanta Beat picked Tobin Heath with the first pick of the 2010 WPS Draft. There was very little doubt that Tobin would be picked first but the Beat never showed their cards. Tobin is a difference maker and tabbed by many as a rising star in the Women’s National Team. She was named the US Young Female Athlete of the Year for 2009 and recently won her third NCAA championship this past year with UNC. Things are going to slow down now because Pia Sundhage has called her into the first WNT camp of the year which runs from Jan. 17 throught Feb. 4th. Then Tobin will have about a month to make the transition to Atlanta and prepare for her first season with the Beat.
