Torneo de las Americas

The U.S. U-20 MNT will participate in the Torneo de las Americas (Tournament of the Americas) against Colombia on Nov. 26th and Mexico on Nov. 28th.  Mexico will play Colombia on Nov. 27th. All games are being played at KSU Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, GA and have a 3:30 pm kickoff time. This should be an outstanding tournament with the US bringing in a talented roster against a strong Mexico side and a Colombian team preparing to host the U-20 World Cup next summer starting July 29, 2011.

This will also be a good test for the US & Mexico who hope to play in the U-20 World Cup in Colombia this summer.  They’ll both participate in the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 tournament this April that will determine the 4 teams that qualify.

The US lost to Mexico 0-1 in front of 8,000 fans at Frisco Park earlier this year in the Dallas Cup after going a man down in the 40th minute. Mexico took the advantage in the 48th minute when Taufic Guarch headed home a corner kick for the lone goal of the game.
